Thurmantha Treadwell Thompson

Owner/Director

Thurmantha was born and raised in Atoka,TN. She attended Munford High School. During and after highschool, She worked as an After School Counselor for Tipton County School system. Thurmantha started her path in early childhood education as an undergraduate student at the University of Memphis. She realized that she loved working with children and decided to apply for a teaching position on campus as a preschool teacher at the University of Memphis Child Development Center.
 
Thurmantha completed her B.PS. in Children and Family Services , and M.A.T in Special Education K-12 from the University of Memphis. She has taught for over 15 years and assumed roles as : Educator, Interventionist, and Instructional Coach. Her passion and dedication to education lead her to Clarksville , TN after working as an Instructional Coach with KIPP Nashville charter schools. She has completed her Childcare Administration Certification from TECTA Austin Peay State University. Thurmantha prides herself in encouraging students to think,play,and grow in a safe nurturing space of diverse learners.
 
Thurmantha is the lucky mother of 3 children: Mitchell, Matthew and Madison . In her free time she loves to travel and shop with her spouse.You can find her enjoying nature, and learning more about Reggio Emilia practices. Thurmantha loves spending time with her family and going on walks at the Cumberland River.

Jocelyn Richardson

Preschool Teacher

Jocelyn moved to Clarksville from the sunny state of Arizona with her husband. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Psychology degree and is happiest when she is creating things with her hands. She is a proud military spouse, and enjoys quality time with her family.
 
She is implementing various Reggio Emilia practices in her classroom. Her students are elated to become bilingual citizens of the world. They enjoy various hands-on and collaborative learning tasks with peers.
 
Jocelyn grew up in Mexico. She spent a lot of her childhood outdoors, and one of her favorite memories is spending Christmas with her family. The lasting sounds of laughter, good times, and delicious meals live rent free in her heart.
Some of her favorite things about living in Clarksville are the small town feels and southern hospitality. Jocelyn recently received her Childcare Administrator certification through TECTA Tennessee Early Childhood Education Training Alliance at Austin Peay State University . She boasts over 15 years in education.

Sharese Cawl

Sharese moved to Clarksville from Murfreesboro at the beginning of 2013 with her husband and two children. She has a wide range certification from welding to HVAC . She recently completed her Center Based Director’s Certification from Austin Peay State University. Sharese is overjoyed to be selected for the Preschool Specialization program offered by TN CCR&R (Tennessee Child Care Resource and Referral).
She is eager to learn more about Reggio Emilia practices in our program. Her dedication to providing quality experiences and environments for our children and families.
 
Some of her pastimes are working on cars, volleyball, and attending car shows. Sharese is a back office wiz, and has worked tirelessly to coordinate participation and partnership with The Lena Project in February 2024.
